Waiting list for IVF after coronavirus

Hi girls!

I was about to undergo my IVF treatment recently when the virus happend. So our fertility clinic has suspended now all new cycles and we have to wait until it’s over. However, I’m worried about the waiting lists afterwards… I expect long waiting lists and I don’t know if it will affect those of you who are already signed up but for me, I haven’t even started yet. Besides, we are NHS patients and I assume that it takes us even longer than if we were private patients.. Ugh.

I was wondering the same. We are from the US and just like you, about to start our first IUI attempt. They told us they would do a case-by-case study for each patient and just treat those who are cancer patient or during ovarian stimulation. And so, we were suspended temporarily. We were trying for 2 years for a natural pregnancy and it wasn’t until now when we made up our mind to go to a fertility clinic. And now this happens. I’m already pretty fed up with all. First the quarantine, and now this.

We’re also NHS patients. My husband and I got tested and they told us we would be signed up for IVF but didn’t in the end. We’re from London and it seems that our public health service won’t get things done regarding fertility treatments when COVID-19 is over. Now I’m using my time looking into private fertility clinics. I’m already 37 years old and my husband 40 and we don’t have too much time anymore. I want to use my own eggs while it’s still possible. Egg donation is no alternative for the two of us… If someone could suggest a private clinic, I’d gladly hear some recommendation…
