Cost of gamete and embryo cryopreservation

In many cases, fertility clinics do not incorporate the expenses associated with gamete and/or embryo cryopreservation and vitrification procedures in their initial IVF quotations. As a result, it is advisable to proactively gather comprehensive information regarding the estimated expenses for these techniques.

While costs can vary depending on the clinic and the specific procedures involved in collecting and preserving samples, the simplest and most affordable option is sperm cryopreservation, which typically ranges from $1,000 to $1,200. This fee includes the initial appointment, blood draw, and an annual storage fee of approximately $250 to $450.

In contrast, both egg and embryo vitrification are more complex techniques compared to sperm freezing, resulting in higher costs. Egg vitrification, for instance, can range from $6,000 to $10,000, with an additional annual storage fee of approximately $800. On the other hand, embryo vitrification services cost around $700 to $800, with an annual storage fee of $250.
