Diabetes is a metabolic disease caused by high blood glucose levels. This pathology can be classified into two types:
- Diabetes type I: if the pancreas is not able to produce insulin.
- Diabetes type II: when the pancreas produces insulin, but resistance occurs.
In addition, there is gestational diabetes and monogenic diabetes.
