Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) has changed its name to Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS). This new name has arisen from a need for evolution, as the previous name did not reflect the multisystemic aspect of the syndrome, was confusing, contributed to delays in diagnosis, and fostered stigmatization and fragmentation in medical care.
