Sex selection is a technique that aims at avoiding the transmission of a sex-linked genetic disease to future children.
This would be the case for some hemophiliacs, who only have the possibility of having healthy children of a specific sex. For example, a hemophilic man and a healthy woman can only have healthy sons, since the daughters would be carriers of the disease and would continue to transmit the hemophilia mutation in the offspring.
