Vaccines to prevent some types of HPV, including high-risk types, can be given to people between the ages of 9 and 45.
However, it is best for all boys and girls to receive the vaccine before the age of 14 to ensure that they are protected before they become sexually active.
If the HPV vaccine is administered between 9 and 14 years of age, two doses will be necessary; whereas at later ages, 3 doses will be necessary.
