For the diagnosis of hydrosalpinx, the woman must visit a specialist and it will be him who requests the necessary tests. Basically, the studies to diagnose a possible hydrosalpinx consist of
- Transvaginal ultrasound
- this medical test will allow to assess if the fallopian tubes are inflamed and therefore may contain fluid.
- Hysterosalpingography
- consists of passing a contrast medium through the tubes to assess their permeability.
- Laparoscopy
- an incision is made in the abdomen where an endoscope is inserted to evaluate the abdominal cavity.
