The HyCoSy procedure is very simple, since it consists of performing a transvaginal ultrasound at the same time that a contrast medium is introduced through the cervix.
For this, the woman will have to be placed in a gynecological position. The physician will place a speculum in the vagina and wash the entire area with a sterile solution. He will then introduce a catheter through the cervix and begin to pass the medium, which may be a physiological saline solution. Next, the catheter will be inserted into the vagina and images will be taken while the contrast fluid diffuses into the uterine interior.
