Hysterosalpingography with contrast (HyCoSy) is a gynecological procedure to evaluate tubal patency by introducing a saline solution as a contrast medium and performing an ultrasound. In general, this medical test is painless and the woman can continue with her daily routine after the HyCoSy.
It is recommended that a sanitary napkin or pad be used after the hiterosalpingosonography, as the woman may experience vaginal discharge from the use of the saline solution for the test. If the woman feels pain after the hiterosalpingosonography, she may also take a pain reliever as directed by her physician.
