IMSI is known as super ICSI because it is an improved technique of IMSI. Thanks to IMSI it is possible to carry out a better morphological selection of spermatozoa. This technique offers a magnification of more than 6000x magnification as opposed to conventional sperm selection which is performed at 400x magnification.
Therefore, IMSI is especially indicated in men with severe teratozoospermia, i.e., whose semen samples have a high amount of amorphous spermatozoa.
