Preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) is a genetic test that allows the analysis of embryos generated in an IVF process.
For this purpose, a biopsy is performed on the embryo and a cell is extracted. This will be genetically analyzed and the results will be evaluated. Genetically altered embryos will not be transferred. Embryos classified as genetically healthy can be transferred to the woman's uterus. These embryos are more likely to implant and give rise to an evolutionary pregnancy than the altered embryos.
