The informativity study is an evaluation performed prior to preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) in cases where one of the partners is a carrier of a chromosomal alteration. This study is also recommended if one of the partners is a carrier or suffers from a monogenic disease such as cystic fibrosis.
Thanks to this informativity study, it is possible to determine the copy of the gene where the mutation causing the pathology is located.
