Food sources of iron (Fe)

Iron is a very important mineral for the human organism, since it participates in the production of hemoglobin, the main component of red blood cells; it also contributes to the formation of muscle proteins and the metabolization of certain enzymes in the body.

When menstruation ends, women lose a large amount of blood and it is normal to feel more tired. It is therefore advisable to consume foods rich in iron such as pumpkin, nuts, spinach, red meat or lentils.
