Clots in menstruation can be normal and do not have to indicate a pathology in women. However, if the menstrual clots are large, frequent or are accompanied by symptoms such as very heavy bleeding, menstrual pain or tiredness, they may be related to changes such as the following:
- Hormonal imbalances.
- Fibroids or polyps.
- Endometriosis.
- Adenomyosis.
- Blood problems.
In addition, an enlarged uterus or iron deficiency anemia could also be the cause of menstrual clots.
