Factors influencing the first menstrual period after childbirth

The way the baby is fed, i.e. bottle feeding or breastfeeding, influences the reactivation of the mother's menstrual cycles. However, this is not the only thing that affects the first menstrual period after childbirth, but other factors must also be taken into account, such as:

  • The amount of blood lost during childbirth.
  • Whether it is the first vaginal delivery.
  • Maternal heredity.
