Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is a high-complexity in vitro fertilization technique that can help men with severe oligozoospermia become fathers.
This technique involves injecting a sperm, selected by the embryologist based on its motility and morphology, directly into the egg to achieve fertilization. For this reason, only as many live sperm as there are eggs to fertilize are needed to perform an ICSI.
