Mild, moderate and severe oligospermia

Oligospermia or oligozoospermia can be defined as having a reduced number of sperm in the ejaculated semen. It is a cause of male infertility because the sperm count is insufficient to lead to fertilize the egg cell.

Based on the sperm count detected with a semen analysis (SA), we can distinguish three different types of oligospermia: mild, moderate, and severe.
