Ovulation is the phase of a woman's menstrual cycle that is triggered by a peak in the LH hormone. This stage usually occurs in the middle of the menstrual cycle, although it varies for each woman.
That's why we talk about three types of menstrual cycles:
- Normal cycle : when it lasts 28 days and ovulation occurs between day 14 and 15 of the cycle.
- Short cycle: those women who have a menstrual cycle shorter than 25 days. In these cases, ovulation is closer to the period, as it takes place on approximately day 11.
- Long cycle: if it lasts longer than 28 days, so ovulation takes place later.
