Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is an endocrine disorder that occurs quite frequently among women of reproductive age. Some of its symptoms can be menstrual irregularities (such as anovulation), fertility problems, increased body hair (hirsutism), and certain problems such as acne.
However, although less known and researched, PCOS can also have emotional consequences for women.
