The length of the menstrual cycle is usually 28 days. Throughout these days, the woman's body undergoes changes due to the action of different sex hormones. The purpose of these changes is to prepare the woman's body for a possible pregnancy.
The phases that make up the menstrual cycle are as follows:

- Follicular phase.
- Ovulation.
- Luteal phase.
