One of the most common symptoms in pregnancy is nausea and vomiting, related to the hormonal changes of pregnancy. However, there are other physiological changes at the gastrointestinal level during pregnancy:
- Relaxation of the esophagus-stomach junction.
- Shifting of the position of the stomach.
- Slower and heavier digestions.
In addition, there may also be a certain rejection of some foods, as well as the well-known cravings, related to hormonal changes and the sharpening of smell and taste.
