Preeclampsia is an obstetric complication related to hypertension and proteinuria (presence of protein in the urine). However, it is important to mention that it is a multisystem disorder that can affect other organs.
When it affects the placenta, preeclampsia is associated with intrauterine growth restriction and preterm delivery.
