Preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), also known as PGT, is a complementary technique in assisted reproduction that allows embryos to be analysed. In this way, healthy embryos that do not present genetic alterations are transferred.
Therefore, one of the advantages of PGD is that it helps in embryo selection. In addition, embryos without genetic alterations are more likely to implant, which increases the pregnancy rate and reduces the rate of miscarriage.
In addition, patients are reassured when their embryos are genetically analysed.
