Sperm quality for AI

Seminal quality is a fundamental requirement for artificial insemination (AI). Although it is true that the spermatozoa are helped with this technique, since they are introduced directly into the uterus, they must subsequently advance by themselves through the Fallopian tubes to meet the egg.

This is why, once the semen has been processed in the laboratory, the motile sperm count (MSC) must be higher than 3 million to be able to perform AI with probability of success.
