We’re from overseas and looking for gestational surrogacy. Is it possible to undergo surrogacy as a foreign patient at Santa Monica Fertility? And how does the surrogacy process look like?
Hi Hopefulparents,
it is also possible for international patients to undergo a surrogacy treatment at Santa Monica Fertility.
Gestational surrogacy involves using an egg donor and a gestational carrier for IVF, which involves using the oocytes of a person other than the surrogate. Thus, the intended mother or egg donor undergoes ovarian stimulation for egg retrieval. Once the eggs are obtained, they will be fertilized with the sperm of the intended father or a sperm donor in case of fertility problems. Finally, the embryo transfer to the surrogate mother takes place waiting for the embryo to implant and thus initiating a pregnancy. Read the whole process here: What’s Gestational Surrogacy?
Hope this answers your question,
Best regards
