If the couple has decided, jointly, to tell that they are going to undergo or are undergoing assisted reproduction treatment, they should choose beforehand the people they are going to tell. The fact that they have decided to talk about it does not mean that they should tell everyone around them, nor that they should give the same information to everyone.
In this way, they can have support from the closest family members and/or friends, while other people will only be informed or will simply not know about it. This will prevent the couple from feeling that they have to tell the same thing many times, when, sometimes, it will not be pleasant for them and they will not feel like it.
