Before starting an assisted reproduction treatment, it is possible to perform a test to measure the level of sperm DNA fragmentation. If the results show high levels of double-strand fragmentation, there is a technique that can help improve semen quality.
This technology is the Fertile Chip, a sperm selection method that reduces the number of sperm with double-strand DNA fragmentation. However, the Fertile Chip cannot be used in all patients, as in men with severe male factor infertility, a sufficient number of sperm cannot be retrieved.
