Menstrual delays, if not due to pregnancy, may be caused by irregularities in the menstrual cycle. Among the reasons for a menstrual delay are the following:
- Polycystic ovaries.
- Change of habits.
- Stress.
- Thyroid hormone disturbances.
- Medications.
- Assisted reproduction treatments.
Since there are many causes of a late period, any concerns should be taken up with a gynecologist.
