At the end of the second month of pregnancy, particularly in week 8, the placenta and umbilical cord are fully formed. From this moment on, they will be in charge of feeding the fetus with the amount of nutrients and oxygen needed, which are transported through maternal blood.
The appearance of the embryo is increasingly becoming resemblant to that of a newborn: he can now stretch the muscles, the limbs are fully forme, and now we can distinguish eyes, nose, and ears on his face.
