Pyelonephritis usually appears in pregnant women in the second or third trimester of pregnancy, in 1-2% of pregnancies. The symptoms it produces are the following:
- Fever.
- Sweating and chills.
- Nausea and vomiting.
- Intense and constant lower back pain.
- Alteration of the pregnant woman's general condition.
This condition occurs more commonly in pregnant women with asymptomatic bacteriuria who did not receive treatment or if treatment was inadequate.
