The first line of approach to vaginal atrophy is to use treatments that do not contain hormones. For example, it is useful to use vaginal moisturizers to help reduce the dryness of the area.
Similarly, it is also a good idea to use lubricants before sexual intercourse. This will help make intercourse painless.
Another non-hormonal treatment for vaginal atrophy is daily pills called ospemifene.
