When the pregnancy follows its normal course and is not at risk, it is usual to check fetal well-being by monitoring it in the 40th week of gestation. To do this, the woman lies on the stretcher and two sensors held by elastic straps are placed on her. This is why this moment is known as the time to go to straps or monitors. One of the sensors is in charge of recording the contractions of the uterus and the other the heartbeat.
The duration of this non-invasive test is about 20-30 minutes and does not require any prior preparation by the pregnant woman or to come in aids.
