When a pregnant woman goes for a 3D ultrasound, it is important that she has not eaten food with large amounts of glucose, as this would activate the baby and the fetal movement would cause lower image quality.
In addition, at this time, the fetus should be facing the front. Otherwise, it would not be possible to observe its face. Another requirement for a good 3D ultrasound is the amount of amniotic fluid and fat in the mother. If there is a lot of amniotic fluid or the pregnant woman is obese, the ultrasound transmission would not be correct and, as a consequence, the image would not have the desired quality.
