When the embryo implants in the endometrium and, therefore, pregnancy is confirmed, the formation of the amniotic cavity begins. Inside it, amniotic fluid will develop in which the suspended fetus will be found.
Among the functions of the amniotic fluid are:
- To offer protection to the fetus.
- To maintain the appropriate temperature.
- To allow growth.
- To help movement.
- To promote lung development.
