To counteract the oxidative damage caused by varicocele and protect fertility, it is recommended to adopt four fundamental daily habits:
- Provide antioxidants: the use of supplements rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Zinc helps protect the DNA of the sperm.
- Avoid heat in the testicular area: varicocele already increases testicular temperature, so extra heat sources, such as resting a laptop directly on your lap, should be avoided.
- Follow an anti-inflammatory diet: that is, prioritize the consumption of fruits, fresh vegetables, and whole foods to reduce systemic inflammation.
- Avoid the consumption of toxins: completely eliminate tobacco and alcohol, as they are powerful oxidants that drastically worsen seminal quality.
