The Al-Sense test is a home test that allows differentiation between urine and amniotic fluid. When pregnant women experience amniotic fluid leakage, they may confuse it with spontaneous urine leakage due to the pressure of the uterus on the bladder.
However, urine and amniotic fluid have different color and odor. For this reason, the Al-Sense test is a very useful method to use at home. It consists of a panty liner that contains a test strip. When the fluid touches the strip, it changes color.
If urine leakage occurs, the strip will turn yellow. On the other hand, if the leakage is amniotic fluid, the strip will turn green or blue.
