The diagnosis of immunological infertility is based on the detection of antisperm antibodies in different types of samples:
- Spermatozoa.
- Seminal fluid.
- Cervical mucus.
Thus, if the presence of antispermatozoa antibody (ASA) is detected in the spermatozoa, it would be a direct test. On the other hand, if the detection of AAE is carried out in the seminal plasma or in the cervical mucus, then we would be talking about indirect tests.
