There are different methods for assisted hatching and releasing the embryo from its zona pellucida. They are discussed below:
- Mechanical hatching
- sbreaks the pellucid zone by friction between an injected needle and the pipette.
- Chemical hatching
- an acid is used to degrade the pellucid zone.
- Laser hatching
- a hole is made in the zona pellucida with the micro-pulses of a laser.
