Ectopic pregnancy and IVF

Some of the factors that could be related to an increased risk of ectopic pregnancy in IVF are listed below:

  • Transfer on day 3.
  • Transfer of more than one embryo.
  • Fresh transfer.
  • Thin endometrium.

If these factors are known and efforts are made to avoid them, as far as possible and especially when there are other risk factors, this could lead to a reduction in the incidence of ectopic pregnancy after assisted reproduction.
