Rheumatoid arthritis causes a progressive degeneration of the joint tissues. This is why people with rheumatoid arthritis have pain in their knees, wrists, ankles, etc. This denegeration can also lead to reduced mobility.
Occasionally, patients with rheumatoid arthritis present with sporadic fever, or even pins and needles in the hands and feet.
