Climacterium is a transitory process in which a woman's reproductive function is gradually diminished until she finally enters menopause.
This transition between adulthood and old age lasts several years, in which the woman begins to suffer various symptoms as a result of the decrease in estrogen and the cessation of ovarian function.
The climacteric usually differs in 3 phases: perimenopause, menopause and postmenopause.
