Chronic adrenal hyperplasia or CAH is a chronic disease, so it will be present throughout life and has no cure. However, there are different treatments that improve the quality of life of patients.
For example, it is possible to apply a pharmacological treatment based on glucocorticoids or mineralocorticoids. These drugs replace cortisol levels and reduce androgen levels, as well as regulate sodium and potassium levels respectively. In addition, in some cases, reparative surgery of the vagina and clitoris is an option.
