The contraceptive injection is a practical and effective method for preventing unwanted pregnancy, although this method of contraception does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases. There are two types of contraceptive injections:
- The monthly injection, which is administered every month. This type of contraceptive injection contains estrogen and progesterone.
- The quarterly injection, which is administered every three months and contains only progesterone.
