Grade V embryos

Cells are almost non-recognised in this 3-day embryo due to its high rate of fragmentation, which is a very poor prognosis. This is considered as a marker for embryos with compromised developmental potential.

These are classified as grade V embryos, since their blastomeres are totally fragmented.
