BRUDYFERTY AOX is a vitamin supplement composed of Omega-3 fatty acids such as Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), Vitamins (L-ascorbic acid, D-alpha-tocopherol, nicotinamide, cyanocobalamin, pyridoxine hydrochloride, riboflavin, thiamine nitrate, folic acid, pyridoxine hydrochloride, riboflavin, thiamine nitrate, folic acid), minerals (zinc oxide, manganese sulfate, cupric sulfate, sodium selenite) as well as glutathione and carotenoids.

The objective of dietary supplementation is based on achieving a decrease in oxidative stress that causes damage to sperm DNA. DHA is an omega-3 fatty acid that is found in the sperm cell membrane in high quantities and, therefore, has a potential antioxidant effect.

However, it must be taken into account that in male infertility there are more factors involved in addition to oxidative stress, such as alterations in the motility, quantity or morphology of the spermatozoa and genetic factors such as an alteration in the fragmentation of the sperm DNA double strand, alterations in the karyotype of the male or in the FISH of the spermatozoa. In this sense, increasing the consumption of antioxidants will not modify the prognosis in these cases, in which it is usually necessary to resort to treatments such as in vitro fertilization with ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) to perform a correct sperm selection, or to apply specific filters for fragmentation such as Chip Fertile, or to perform an embryonic diagnosis in cases of altered karyotype or FISH, by means of PGD (Preimplantational Genetic Diagnosis).

Regarding the intake of antioxidant supplements, as we have seen, there is limited evidence of the benefit of consuming some of them. However, the analysis of these results is very complicated, because in the clinical setting it is very difficult to control the complete intake of the patient, as well as the evaluation of the association with other interventions or behaviors specific to the life of the study subject.
