Is the success rate higher in AI or IVF?

By Miguel Angel Checa Vizcaino M.D., Ph.D. (gynecologist).
Last Update: 10/13/2022

Undoubtedly, in vitro fertilization (IVF) has higher gestation rates than artificial insemination. In fact, artificial insemination is not recommended after 37 years of age.

At present, AI should be reserved for very young women (<35 years) and with less than two years of infertility, for women without a male partner or in homosexual families.
