When a heterosexual couple has been having regular sexual intercourse for more than a year without using contraceptive protection, but does not achieve pregnancy, then it is time to see a fertility specialist. In the case of women over 35-38 years old, this time is reduced to 6 months.
However, heterosexual couples with fertility problems are not the only cases that visit an assisted reproduction clinic. Female couples or single women who wish to have a baby must also see a fertility specialist despite not having tried naturally for a certain period.
