Fetoscopy is a surgical intervention that can be applied to the fetus itself, to the umbilical cord or to the placenta. This technique is usually performed at week 16 of pregnancy.

The fetoscopy procedure involves making a small incision in the mother's abdomen to insert an endoscope. It is a possible solution to perform a biopsy, an occlusion of blood vessels or for spina bifida.
