Normally, the first of the last menstrual period (LMP) is considered the beginning of the first week of pregnancy, given that it is the cycle in which fertilization and embryo implantation will take place.
So, in short, the first week of pregnancy coincides with the menstruation, which means that conception has not taken place yet.
