Hi everyone, I am very curious about how embryo adoption works. Has anyone gone through the process or know how it works?? Thank you, this is a great community!!

  2. Hello Lucy54,

When an assisted reproduction treatment is given, there is a possibility that there are extra embryos that have not been used. These embryos are not destroyed a priori, they can be cryopreserved. The couple is given three options, cryopreserve them and use them for future pregnancies, destroy them, or donate them to couples in need. In case you decide to donate them, there are programs that allow couples to adopt these frozen embryos.

Here is a review of the SERI clinic so that you can learn more about it: Servy Institute for Reproductive Endocrinology: Review. However InviTRA staff recommends you visit 2 or 3 clinics in order to have more information to decide which one is the adequate for you.

I hope I have helped you.

    Best regards.
